Dr. Malvika Sabharwal, a distinguished name in the field of Obst & Gynae. in India, was born in 1954. She is a pioneer in Laparoscopic Gynae. Endoscopy and was among the first few to have initiated Gynaecological Laparoscopic Surgery in the Country. She is the Chief of Gynae. Endoscopic Surgery at Jeewan Mala Hospital, New Delhi.

Dr. Malvika, graduated from Lady Hardingc Medical College, New Delhi and pursued her post graduation from Govt. Medical College, Patiala. She subsequently specialized in Gynecological Laparoscopic Surgery under Dr. Adam Magos at the Royal free Hospital in London and took advanced training from Dr. K.Wamsteker at Spaarne Hospital from Netherland. After returning to India, she pursued her career with the aim to develop new cost cutting techniques in this focused area and to make laparoscopic surgery affordable to women from various economic strata. Her continuous research in the field of advance Gynaecology, has not only reduced the cost and increased the safety of the patient, but also, prevented many Gynecological disorders much ahead of time.

In recognition of her unique skills and ability many International Gynecological federations have invited her to deliver lectures and conduct operative workshops. This has greatly enhanced the respect for Indian doctors abroad. She was one of the first to institute laparoscopy in the country. She holds bi-annual training sessions that impart training to the other doctors in the specialized work of laparoscopy and hystcroscopy. These courses are recognized by the Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecological Society of India (FOGS!) and the Indian Academy of Medial Sciences (IMA). Doctors from all over country and overseas come to learn ihcsc procedures from her.

Dr. Malvika has received numerous awards in India and abroad for her contribution to Gynae. Endoscopic Surgery. She is on the teaching faculty in Ethicon Institute for Surgical Education and IMA Academy of Medical Speciality. Presently she is the Secretary of Delhi Endoscopic Society. She is an active senior member and holds various posts in Delhi Medical Association, Indian Association of Gynae. Endoscopists, Indian Association of Endoscopic Surgeons, Association of Obst. & Gynae, Delhi, Federation Of Obs. & Gyn Societies of India, Association of Endoscopic Surgeons of India, International Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy, Gasless International, Tokyo, American Association of Gynaecological Laparoscopists and Minimally invasive procedures.
