Help in any form is welcome to boost up the projects undertaken by the Alumni Association. This is just the beginning. More needs to be done. Our alumni are spread all over the world. In India they are there from Kasshmir to Kanyakumari , from Kutch to Kohima . They are there in all states of America, UK and European countries. It is estimated that our overseas number is more than in India.

We all connected to our Alma mater in small or big way. You will ask me, "What is the role of Alumni?". The answer is "to be connected to our roots, our Alma Mater".

Students of Hardinge are fondly called Hard-onians. They are known for selfless service to the community. The hallmark of a hardonian is that they are biggest asset for any organization and community wherever they work and are recognized for the commendable work they perform.

Most people fulfill their quota to work just to keep their jobs infact; but hardonians are always willing to do a little bit more than they get paid for. That is why they have pulled themselves out of crowd and become indispensable and un-compeatable. Replacing them is difficult, if not impossible.

Lady Hardinge Medical College stated in 1916, is the senior most medical college in the capital city and one of the oldest in the country, needs more improvement with the help of its Alumni. We must help out students in all possible ways who pass out to be respectably called 'Alumni' and help their juniors in turn. This full circle of give and take will tremendously help our great Alma mater for a long time to come We contribute generously in all possible ways like Sampark, Sahyog, Sanskar, Sewa and Samarpan. Money is very small part of it.

It is sad that Lady Hardinge Medical College is going down due to sheer neglect by its Alumni. LHMC has produced 6038 Alumni till December 2006 and our membership is less than 1000. We all are aware that Indian Institute of Management (IIMS) are surviving without any grant from government and still considered as top institutions in India and abroad. Same is true of Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs). These are growing and flourishing with generous funds from its alumni. 100% old students of these prestigious institutions are member of Alumni association. Why can't we do the same?.

Time is running out, listen to the soft call of Lady hardinge Medical College "Save me from perishing. Make me best , make me Extraordinary and take me to Greater Heights". All readers should know that LHMC is among the first 5 medical institutions in the country as rated by outlook and India today for students seeking UG admission in MBBS. This is happened in the last 5 years. Let us work to upgrade its image.

Many Alumni accuse us, "What has Hardinge done for us?". Why we should be proud of being a Hardonian?".

Our reply is " Ask not what Hardinge has done for you, aks yourself what have you done for Hardine?". Not to talk of this life, we have to have many lives to pay off the loan to our biological mother and to our Alma mater. Whatever your position is, whatever you earning are today, is all due to your learning at hardinge supplemented by your own hard work of course .

We have no doubt that, Lady hardinge Medical college can reach glorious heights if we 'Alumni'- its torch bearers put into practice, the principle of going an extra mile in rendering help to our Alma Mater and its alumni and giving more that what we have received. This mind set will make us all more focused, more cooperative in all possible way and make our own college- "THE BEST". This investment is worth trying, because it comes back greatly multiplied to the people who remain true to the spirit of going extra mile willingly for their old institution.
